We all saw images of the terrible tragedy that struck Japan last month. Click on this post to learn how you can support relief efforts for music therapists who were affected by the disaster.
Yuji Igari is a music therapist in Sendai, the epicenter of the recent earthquake in Japan. One of Yuji’s clients, Kenji, has Down Syndrome. Kenji’s house was washed away by the Tsunami, but luckily he and his family were rescued 3 days later. They still have no electricity in this season of cold weather. Please make a donation to the American Music Therapy Association Disaster Relief Fund to help music therapists continue their work with individuals like Kenji during this difficult time.
To make a donation, click here and you’ll be directed to the AMTA Disaster Response page. Once you’re on the page scroll down and click “Click here to make a donation.” (AMTA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and accepts contributions which support its mission. Contributions are tax deductible as allowed by law.)
